Marathon County Officials say they don’t plan to alter committee assignments for a county board member also serving in the county’s Public Safety Committee who was arrested last month, citing the end of the board’s term.

Police reports obtained via open records request show County Board Supervisor Nicholas Endres was arrested around 1:45 am March 21 in the town of Bevent.

According to police reports, police were called to the Bevent residence after a neighbor noticed Endres attempting to gain entry into his wife’s home. But Endres had been under a no-contact order with his wife after he was arrested in September on charges related to domestic abuse.

Endres was appointed to the Marathon County Board in February 2025 to fill the seat left vacant by former supervisor Brent Jacobson, who is now a member of the State Assembly. He is running for re-election unopposed in District 24, and currently serves on the Public Safety Committee, which oversees the Marathon County Sheriff’s Office.

Endres was inside the residence when police arrived.
