August Wausau tavern calls
Warranted: Police responded to Cop Shoppe at 12:17 am Aug. 26 for a report of two men at the place with active warrants. Police found them a little farther down Washington Street and arrested them.
Political battle: Police responded to Loppnow’s Bar at 8:36 pm Aug. 10 for a report of a fight over politics. The debate turned to fisticuffs, during which one of the men fell and hit his head, causing a laceration. Police charged one of the men with substantial battery and the other with disorderly conduct.
Mushroom fight: Police were called to Malarkey’s Pub at 1:19 am Aug. 4 for a report of a fight between two women. According to police reports, one woman called another woman into the bathroom asking for assistance. When the woman joined her, the woman who made the request said she was on mushrooms and then started fighting the woman she asked for help. Police say they didn’t know each other. The mushroom woman was arrested for strangulation, obstruction and disorderly conduct, and she was placed on a probation hold.
