Tavern calls from Wausau and elsewhere for July

It’s that time of the month again. We at The Wausonian think Wausau is pretty interesting after dark, and this monthly tavern report gives us an inside look. This post is available only to paid subscribers of The Wausonian.

Last month we mentioned that the police had said they were scaling back their report - and indeed, it was almost completely empty. The Wausonian wouldn’t stand for that, of course, and called for a more robust tavern report. And we got it. Thanks to the Wausau Police Department for listening to the feedback and turning in a report that helps keep the public informed.

July calls

Headbanging after dark: Police responded to Cop Shoppe Bar at 1:54 am July 7 for a report that a man was bleeding at the mouth. Police learned he’d somehow banged his head against the bar and was unresponsive. He was taken to Aspirus Wausau Hospital to be treated.
