Molly Tuttle graces The Grand | Your Wausome Weekend Guide
Wausau area events for the week of Nov. 12-18, 2025

Molly Tuttle
Thursday, Nov. 13: Molly Tuttle is a good get for the Grand Theater - she’s had two Grammys for her last two albums with her band Golden Highway, plus a nomination for Best New Artist. Tuttle is back and touring with her new solo album. Tuttle brings an interesting blend of folk and bluegrass (heavy on the bluegrass), and her voice pierces through all of it. The new album from this Nashville-based guitar virtuoso even covers Charli XCX. 7:30 pm. $41-$79. See the event page for more.
Art by the Foot reception
Friday, Nov. 14: Technically the Art by the Foot exhibit opened Oct. 3 at the Center for the Visual Arts, and the Soft, Steady, Sure exhibit opened on Oct. 24, but this reception at the Center for the Visual Arts is a good excuse to check out both of them. Art by the Foot submissions are small works of art that can’t be more than one foot in height and length. And Soft, Steady, Sure is a collection of work celebrating the idea of care and how it’s expressed. Several of the artists will be on hand to discuss their work. 5 pm. Free. See the event page for more.
Joyann Parker and Mark Lamoine
Friday, Nov. 14: There’s something about Joyann Parker that has continued to intrigue me. Maybe it’s that she has a song called Sconnie Girl (in the video, she wears a Packers jersey). Parker has a nice, deep voice over a modern country sound. “I was raised to speak my mind, work real hard and still be real kind, ain’t nothing better than a fine Wisconsin girl,” she sings. She’ll be joined at Malarkey’s Pub, one of her frequent Wausau stops, by Mark Lamoine, who plays one mean resonator. 9 pm. See the event page for more.
Paddygrass
Saturday, Nov. 15: If you’re a fan of Irish music, then you probably already know about this band. Padddygrass is a high-energy Celtic group, ranging from a traditional Irish sound to almost sounding a little bluesy when the harmonica comes out. The band brings a venue to life, and what a perfect venue for this group - Merrill’s ode to craft beer that is Sawmill Brewing Company, located in a former DNR ranger station. There aren’t a lot of opportunities for this kind of music around the Wausau area, so this is probably worth a drive to Merrill for fans of the genre. 5 pm. See the event page for more.
Jerrod Niemann with Soul Whiskey
Saturday, Nov. 15: OK, so typically when I think of the Q&Z Expo Center, I think of pretty hard-driving music. But this is a night of country, headlined by Jerrod Niemann. Niemann is a pretty radio-friendly style of top 40 country but with a little grit on the guitar. This Nashville artist has had albums and singles chart, and is pretty well known in the genre. He’ll be joined by Soul Whiskey, a Stevens Point band playing 90s and 2000s country hits, and Jackson Taylor Jalowitz. $42-$69. 7 pm. See more at the event page.
Classical Thursdays with CWSO
Thursday, Nov. 13: This is a really cool series that the Central Wisconsin Symphony Orchestra is doing with the Leigh Yawkey Woodson Art Museum. But this one is extra cool - playing a little classical and a little Irish music (OK, that kind of negates what I said in the Sawmill/Paddygrass writeup!). The symphony will be joined by musicians Randy Colton on violin, David Tamres on guitar and John Coletta on flute. (Coletta once played with the Stevens Point Celtic group Green Tea). Enjoy the music while you wander the gallery. 5:30 pm. Free. See the event page for more.
