The Mosinee Fire Chief's resignation you never heard about
Officials started an investigation and never finished it. We now know why.
Last August, the Mosinee District’s fire commission placed Mosinee Fire District Fire Chief Adam Grahn on administrative leave.
Officials at the time explained that Grahn was under investigation, but didn’t say exactly why.
The Wausonian and other outlets at the time covered that news. But then, nothing much was said beyond that.
Until recently. When Mosinee announced it had a new fire chief, it made me think, wait: what happened to the previous chief?
The Wausonian found out what happened to Grahn and the investigation. Although there are details The Wausonian still seeks to learn, we now have a rough timeline of what happened. And no other media outlet has yet published what happened.
The chief’s separation
The Wausonian sought records related to Grahn’s departure. This week, The Wausonian received those records.
The Mosinee Fire Commission on Aug. 18 voted to place Grahn on leave immediately following a closed session. That occurred so the commission could investigate “various complaints received against him,” according to a copy of his leave notice as obtained by The Wausonian.
