Mrs. Doubtfire
Saturday, Feb. 7: Mrs. Doubtfire was one of the great performances of the late comedian and actor Robin Williams - the guy who just never seemed to stop trying to make people laugh. This musical version of the classic film in which a recently divorced voice actor disguises himself as a nanny in order to be able to see his kids has achieved rave reviews itself. Tickets to both of these performances at the Grand Theater are selling out fast. 1:30 pm and 7 pm. $87-$146. See the event page for more.

Corkscrews and Snowshoes
Saturday, Feb. 7: Snowshoeing is fun, but nothing makes it more fun than a little wine and cheese! That’s the idea behind this Corkscrews and Snowshoes event at Monk Botanical Gardens. Traverse the beautiful grounds on a pair of snowshoes and enjoy four stops with a paired wine and cheese at each stop in this unique event. Rent snowshoes if you don’t have them for an additional $2. 3-6 pm. $40. See the event page for more details.
EDM Takeover at the Mish
Saturday, Feb. 7: Alright, all you raver kids know exactly what this is about. EDM music (electronic music for those not in the know) will be taking over the Intermission! The Mish, as locals call it, will be featuring EDM artists from 8 pm-2 pm, including Coventree, Koe, Hippie Militia, Highdruh, Downtown Bodega J and Naterator. If those names mean anything to you, or you’re just curious about about a genre you don’t see too often in Wausau, this is where you’ll be Saturday night. The Mish recommends no flow toys since it’s a small space. 8 pm. Check out the event page for more.
Brad Emanuel
Friday, Feb. 6: Brad Emanuel has been a local favorite for some time - he’s been voted best local musician in annual surveys for several years now. For this show, he’s joined by a pretty diverse range of well-known musicians, including John Altenburgh, Sidney Rose, Dan Cable, Harold Melo, and Charlie Strong. They’ll support the guy who has become central Wisconsin’s ultimate party musician, so raise a drink with him at The Garage for what should be an epic show. 8 pm. Check out the event page for more.
Saint Valentine’s Wine Event
Monday, Feb. 9: Kin and Kind is one of those places that ends to operate under the radar, and we haven’t had too many occasions to highlight an event at their place on Grand Avenue - but this Monday that changes. Kin and Kind will host this Saint Valentine’s Wine Event. Your ticket gets you wine tastings, snacks from the Old Reliable Food Truck, and a bottle to take home. Perfect for an off-day Valentine’s Day date. 6 pm. $44. Check out the event page for more.
Winter Carnival
Saturday, Feb. 7: This time of year, it can be tough to figure out just what exactly to do with the kiddos. But this weekend, Willow Springs Garden just north of town has you covered. This winter carnival held at the gardens’ hall should keep your kids busy with eight different carnival games, such as sled dog ring toss, pin the snowman with buttons, ice fishing and more. Pay $2 per game, or $10 for all eight games. Plus warm drinks and sweets in the popcorn shed. 10 am-2 pm. See the event page for more.
Upcoming
Peking Acrobats
Thursday, Feb. 19: Tickets are already selling out fast for this show that features some of the most stunning feats you’ve ever seen. These acrobats have been performing their death-defying stunts for more than 32 years, and so you know they have this show down to an art. Combining acrobatics with traditional Chinese music, this is unlike a show you’ve ever seen at the Grand Theater before. 7:30 pm. $45-$73. See the event page for more.
