It’s that time of the month again! Our Wausonian open threads are a chance for everyone, regardless of subscriber status, to comment with your point of view.
This month we’re talking about the Wausau School District’s plan to restructure its schools in a pretty significant way. Administrators say it’s necessary with the decline in enrollments and the difficulties of having too few students spread out amongst too many buildings.
But opponents point out the difficulties in transportation that will result, amongst a number of other challenges. Some have said they will open enroll out of the district if these changes are approved.
I’ve heard both publicly and privately, both support for the plan and against. Both have come from current teachers as well as parents.
In case you missed it, this story was sent to everyone that breaks down the plan in detail:
As always, you’re free to comment on any story or any other Wausau-related topic you care to. Unlike most of our stories, all readers are able to comment on open threads.
