Once per month, The Wausonian digs through the civil court filings in Marathon County to find the most interesting cases. It’s one of those Wausonian features that you only get here.

I’d been keeping up with this feature pretty well. Then election season happened. Featured below are the civil court case filings for February 2026. Before the end of the month, I hope to publish March’s cases as well.

Wisconsin Housing LLC vs City of Wausau

Wisconsin Housing was issued a raze order by the city of Wausau on its property at 511 S Second Avenue on Dec. 29. According to the order, because the costs to repair the property would be more than 50% of its value, the property can’t be repaired to comply with city standards and must be razed. The lawsuit is challenging that assertion and asking for an injunction until the matter can be settled in court.
