Regional vaccine site slated to open at NTC and this week's news
The Wausonian, April 1, 2021
Northcentral Technical College is slated to open as a regional vaccination site for COVID-19, serving Marathon County and the northern region of the state.
The site will open April 6 at the campus’s Center for Business and Industry, and will be open Tuesdays through Saturdays, from 11 am until 7 pm, according to the Marathon County Health Department. Those wishing for a vaccine must make an appointment through the DHS registry.
The site was one of three — the others were the mall and UWSP @Wausau — to serve the northern regional. The state has opened several of these in Wisconsin in an effort to further get people vaccinated against the Coronavirus. The next wave slated for vaccination will include most people - essentially, anyone 16 years old and up, and that begins Monday.

The city attorney had drafted a letter in 2019 but was waved off by then-Community Development Director Chris Schock, and it was never sent.
Wausau Events announced it will host four events this year. They include the ongoing Concerts on the Square; Chalk Fest; Blues Fest; and a Community Event in September, with details to be announced. Wausau Events had previously canceled the Balloon Rally and Rib Fest, but its original founders are hosting a similar event in Stettin.
