Wausau East hockey parents say they’re stunned over a recent decision by the Merrill Area Public Schools Board to end the co-op hockey team that included Wausau East and Merrill players.

The school board technically tabled indefinitely the decision to renew the co-op at its Jan. 28 meeting, effectively dissolving the combined team. That left Wausau East hockey players and their parents wondering what happens next.

Now it looks like Wausau’s school board will take up the issue today - but the decision could be a complicated one.
