Climbers are a dedicated group, and they’ll for sure come out and support it. But the more casual folks will be the ones who make or break it. They’re copying the playbook of a gym that’s actually working, so that gives them a good chance I think.
I think it would add to the mix of things to do here, which is a good for the city as a whole, even folks who aren’t using it. I’ll be curious to see if the committee ultimately accepts the proposal with updated financials.
I’m not surprised. I know Steve would put his heart and soul into the project and business but I am skeptical that revenue would exceed expenses.
