Hi Orlando - I haven't accepted op-eds yet but maybe I am thinking about doing a once monthly (or, depending on frequency) whenever we have enough to make a full post) post with opinion pieces from readers. Watch for an announcement!
I occasionally write op-eds for the Pilot, one today actually but I am conservative. Hopefully that isn't an issue. I try to write in a polite manner. You might consider a " point/counterpoint" on certain topics. I would potentially be interested in offering the conservative viewpoint. I regret that daily print papers are overwhelmingly liberal and radio is the opposite. Diverse opinions should be featured in both.
If I decide to take reader-submitted material I will not discriminate based on political viewpoint. I just want to be very thoughtful about how I approach it because I think very carefully about the overall reader experience. I actually think the point/counterpoint on some topics, or soliciting a variety of responses, might be a good option. When I launch it, I will let you know.
